Our neighbourhoods

The Wormholt ward is predominantly residential but steeped with the history of four primary Edwardian and early Art Deco era developments forming our four primary neighbourhoods:

  • Early Edwardian terrace and semi-detached houses in Aldbourne, Wormholt, Sedgefield & Aycliffe Roads

  • The Cleverley Estate, the first social housing with private bathrooms ever built for the Peabody Trust

  • The Groves, an area of workers cottages built for workers building the western leg of the Central Line

  • The Flowers Estate containing the original cubist cottages built in 1926-28 by the LCC for the Homes for Heroes initiative for veterans of the WW1 and starring backdrop to our the greatest children of Shepherd's Bush, The Who, in their film Quadrophenia

In addition, within the community, we have five schools, a community farm, a leisure centre, an NHS Wellbeing Centre, and last but not least, representing the ward's heart and soul is our beautiful park, Wormholt Park!
